Ghost In Time by Scott English, Copyright 2007

Stuck.

In one place while the world rages around you. Passing you by as if you didn’t exist. Maybe, you don’t. But that’s crazy! Of course you do! Don’t you?

Treading water for so long, just to stay afloat.

The world passes you by, alternatively in slow motion, than in fast. You reach out to grasp something, anything, but your hand slips right through. Like some sort of movie special effect or a cliché of sand through an hourglass. Your world grows up and decays around you. It is oblivious to you: a breath of air to dissipate amongst the breaths of so many.

And why should you be recognized? What is so special that you should have a voice? Who are you to stand up to the challenge of time?

You can’t.

No, that is wrong.

The truth is: You won’t.

And so you keep treading in time, trying to keep your head above the flow when all the while you are fading.

Fast.

A shadow of what could be. A memory of an untold epic.

A ghost in time.

I feel like the man in the picture is looking at me, and telling me *I’m* not real, while I look at him thinking the same thing.

As far as the story, we already chatted some about my interpretation. I’m interested to see how others view it. I’ll hold off on posting my comments , because I don’t want to influence how anyone else sees the story. I hope someone else posts an opinion!

I keep ending up in San Antonio.

I try to stay where I was, wherever I was, and then I end up in a ditch. San Antonio again.

Or under a bridge. San Antonio again. At least I was near a freeway this time.

Just a thought.

San Antonio again.

I think a lot of us live our lives this way.

Kelly (crickie): That’s actually very interesting that you should write that because the image in the post is one of me taking a picture of myself…what that means I will leave to interpretation…

As far as the story behind it all goes, I think that you should post your thoughts anyway, and not wait for the slackers to contribute. Perhaps even, you might generate some conversation with your thoughts.

cwp: Was your horn blowing constantly and without cause any of those times? Just a thought.

Chickie: Doesn’t that seem like a shame, like a travesty?

Life sucks and then you die. Snatch the beauty and the fun and the love that you can because it is over before you know it. Try to give beauty and fun and love to others, because we all need them. Love you
