I have been walking / jogging almost regularly during weeknights for the past several weeks. Well - occasionally, Friday decides to give me the evening off. Still, that is a mighty improvement over my past lack of athletic endeavors.

This evening I tromped out 1.84 miles. Yesterday evening, 1.74 miles.

3.58 miles in two days.

I am happy with that, though I feel the pressure to eek out more tomorrow evening. I present to you masochism at its finest. *bows*

I should probably create a page where I can record my journey so that I at least have something quasi-tangible to mark my passage over all of these miles.

You could have a sticky beak too if you desired.

Treadmills were invented by the devil.

Did you see anything good on your walk? ;)

You know what my massage therapist says-Exercise is bad for you. She calls it the e-word. Of course, she HAS had some bad experiences with it in the past. But seriously, don’t you feel virtuous when you get in there and do what is good for you even when you hate it? And I can’t imagine not hating it. This weekend–2 miles!!!

Kelly (crickie): You may be on to something. My particular model of treadmill is the Everwalk 666. And, no, nothing really interesting - other than a couple of spots on the wall that need touch up paint.

Mom: I always though the E word was bad for you too, but the perverse (and I mean that in a cosmic joke sense of the word) thing about it is that it brings your blood pressure down. That is just wrong.

I don’t know about virtuous. Mainly just exhausted really. That and… well, more exhausted. 2 miles this weekend? *laughs* I don’t walk weekends ;)

Be thankful Amy didn’t get an elliptical trainer. That’s the one Ashley and I almost died on. When I had the personal trainer, she said, come on, you can do 5 minutes. I did 3 and thought I was having a heart attack. She did, too, and let me off. Treadmills are a piece of cake after that.

You can listen to books on tape or cd and it is much better than nothing.

oh! I love the elliptical trainer. I can do about 45 minutes, but I get bored on the same machine for too long . At that point usually switch to weights, bike, or stair master. Treadmill is my least favorite.

There must be a trick to it that I did not master. While I was biking and treadmilling one day I watched a woman stay on the elliptical trainer for over an hour. She was drenched with sweat, but seemed to find it easy. I asked her how she did it, and she said you just have to find your rhythm and then it’s easy. I’ve never had rhythm. Obviously. Kelly, you are just as obviously a person who does have it.

Mom: I’ve actually discovered that I enjoy the various exercise profiles on the treadmill that we got from y’all. Mainly one in particular - which changes the speed every two minutes - and keeps my interest much better than the droning monotony of one speed for the entire session.
